The joints and terminals of wires and cables are an important part of power safety and power transmission. Manufacturers of cold resistant and fire-resistant series cables shall meet relevant requirements and regulations in the production and processing of cable joints and terminals. When making connectors and terminals of wires and cables, a series of processes such as cutting and stripping cables shall be continuously operated to minimize the time of insulation exposure.

　　In the process of cutting and stripping the cable, pay attention to the integrity of the core and insulation layer, and ensure the cleanliness of additional insulation wrapping, assembly and heat shrinkage. If there is a joint on the oil filled cable, the wire and cable manufacturer shall make the joint first; If there is a difference between the two ends, the low terminal head shall be made first.

　　During the fabrication of cable joints and terminals, measures such as insulation, mechanical protection, sealing and moisture-proof shall be strengthened. The terminals and joints of 6kV and above power cables shall ensure the distance between external insulation phases and the ground. For cables of 35kV and below, when cutting and stripping the core shield, insulation and metal sheath, pay attention to the small distance between the core and the nearest grounding point along the insulation surface, which shall meet the relevant requirements.
